We believe that mental health issues need to be spoken about openly and honestly and that there is no shame in seeking help. Teac Tom provides a safe and nurturing space for people to get support for their mental health. Our open door policy allows us to be accessible to everyone in the community.
Since 2014, Angela Hayes and her team have been at the heart of the community supporting hundreds of families and thousands of individuals who have been courageous enough to seek our help.
As well as counselling for children, teenagers and adults, Teac Tom provides:
A 24-hour helpline.
Mental Health Awareness talks in schools and clubs.
Corporate Days for workplaces.
There is an ever-growing demand for mental health services in Ireland.
The statutory services are struggling to meet the increased demand. Teac Tom strives to bridge this gap and provides an enhanced level of community care. Our aim is to give immediate help to the people of Kilkenny, Laois and the wider area so they can avail of the right support at the time when they need it most.
